This article will present the results of Canada’s latest Express Entry draw on May 24, 2023.<\/p>\n
In its latest Express Entry draw,\u00a0Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 4,800\u00a0Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence (PR) to Canada.\u00a0This draw marks IRCC’s eighth all-program draw of 2023.<\/p>\n
As a reminder,\u00a0all-program draws consider issuing ITAs to applicants of all three programs contained under Express Entry –\u00a0the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program\u00a0(FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).<\/p>\n
ITA recipients in today’s draw\u00a0all had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System\u00a0(CRS) score of 488. This CRS cut-off score is up five points from the last all-program draw conducted by IRCC on April 26, 2023 (minimum CRS score of 483).\u00a0<\/p>\n
Immigration candidates who remain in\u00a0the Express Entry\u00a0pool following today’s round of invitations can likely expect another\u00a0draw in two weeks.<\/p>\n
About Express Entry<\/p>\n
Express Entry cumulatively manages\u00a0immigration applications from three programs – the\u00a0CEC, the FSWP, and the FSTP – via one application management system.<\/p>\n
This system is a key component of the Canadian immigration landscape, helping\u00a0the federal government\u00a0attract foreign skilled workers to Canada by offering them PR. Express Entry provides international skilled workers who are interested in immigrating to Canada\u00a0with a chance to fulfill their dreams\u00a0while reciprocally contributing to\u00a0the economic and social growth of this\u00a0country.<\/p>\n
To become a Canadian permanent resident through one of the three programs under\u00a0Express Entry, foreign skilled workers must begin the process by\u00a0self-verifying their eligibility for the CEC, FSWP and\/or the FSTP. Once this step is complete, all eligible candidates are welcome to make an online Express Entry profile on IRCC’s website. At this time, candidates will have formally entered the Express Entry pool and made it so that they may receive an ITA in a forthcoming Express Entry draw.\u00a0\u00a0

Once in the pool, candidates\u00a0must wait until IRCC issues their next “round of invitations” in an Express Entry draw. Candidates with a CRS score above the\u00a0cut-off score (for that particular draw) will be issued\u00a0an ITA for Canadian PR. Now, a candidate becomes an applicant\u00a0and they will be given\u00a060 days (starting from the day they receive the ITA)\u00a0to submit an\u00a0electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) for PR\u00a0in Canada.<\/p>\n
