Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted another Express Entry draw yesterday, during which 3,500 Express Entry candidates received an\u00a0Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence (PR) in Canada.\u00a0This all-program draw continues IRCC’s recent trend, bringing the immigration department’s\u00a0streak\u00a0to five straight all-program draws.<\/p>\n
Note:\u00a0All-program draws\u00a0consider candidates from all three programs managed under the Express Entry application management system –\u00a0the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program\u00a0(FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).<\/p>\n
In their most recent draw today, the immigration department\u00a0issued ITAs\u00a0to candidates\u00a0with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System\u00a0(CRS) score of 483. This CRS cut-off score is down three points from Canada’s last all-program draw on April 12, 2023\u00a0(minimum CRS score of 486).\u00a0<\/p>\n
Immigration candidates who remain in\u00a0the Express Entry pool can likely expect\u00a0another draw in around two weeks.<\/p>\n
About Express Entry<\/p>\n
Express Entry is the system that Canada’s federal government uses to manage immigration applications from the\u00a0CEC, the FSWP, and the FSTP.<\/p>\n
Through these programs,\u00a0the Express Entry system has become Canada’s main way to bring foreign skilled workers from global destinations\u00a0to this country. This is accomplished by offering\u00a0PR to qualified and interested international skilled workers, allowing them the opportunity to start a new life in Canada while contributing to\u00a0the country’s social and economic development.<\/p>\n
To receive an ITA during\u00a0an Express Entry draw, which is the only way to apply for Canadian PR via Express Entry,\u00a0foreign skilled workers who are interested in coming to Canada\u00a0must first verify that they are\u00a0eligible\u00a0for at least one of\u00a0the CEC, the FSWP or the FSTP. Now, eligible candidates can go online and create an IRCC account, which will allow them to\u00a0submit a profile electronically\u00a0through the immigration department’s website. At this time, all candidates with an Express Entry profile\u00a0can take a moment to\u00a0review their CRS score.\u00a0

All candidates within the Express Entry pool\u00a0must now wait for the next round of invitations (Express Entry draw) issued by IRCC. These draws\u00a0will invite candidates in the pool who have\u00a0an eligible CRS score –\u00a0above the\u00a0cut-off CRS score for that particular draw – to submit a formal online application\u00a0for permanent resident status in Canada.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Note: This formal application process involves submitting an\u00a0electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) to IRCC online, a process that\u00a0applicants have\u00a060 days to complete\u00a0(starting from the day they receive an ITA).<\/p>\n
