Invited candidates must have had at least three years of full-time work experience as computer programmers and interactive media developers. This must have also been their primary occupation (NOC 2174). The experience must have been completed in the five years prior to the application.<\/p>\n
In addition, applicants must have had at least one year of Canadian work experience in any occupation of NOC types 0, A or B. They must also possess a Canadian Language Benchmark rating of seven in all English language abilities, and must have completed a bachelor\u2019s degree or another post-secondary degree that is at least three years long.<\/p>\n
Why are only certain occupations invited?<\/p>\n
The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream invites candidates to apply for a provincial nomination based on the province\u2019s labour needs.<\/p>\n
For example, the previous provincial draw invited Express Entry candidates with experience in the automotive industry.<\/p>\n

How can I be considered for this program?<\/p>\n
Candidates who wish to be considered for the Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream must first create an Express Entry profile.<\/p>\n
Express Entry is the system that the Canadian federal government uses to manage permanent residence applications through the three main economic class immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).<\/p>\n
In addition, many Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) align with the Express Entry system to select eligible candidates to address the province\u2019s labour needs.<\/p>\n
Candidates in the Express Entry system are ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), based on their age, work experience, education as well as language ability.<\/p>\n
Nova Scotia issues invitations, or Letters of Interest, to candidates that fit the province\u2019s needs. These candidates would have 60 days to apply for a provincial nomination.<\/p>\n
Those who get a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 CRS points, practically guaranteeing an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.<\/p>\n
