They must also meet eligibility and admissibility requirements.<\/p>\n In order to apply to become exempt as a family member, you must follow the six steps highlighted in the video below. More information is also available here.<\/p>\n Parents and Grandparents Program 2020 now open<\/p>\n Canadian citizens, permanent residents and those with First Nations status are now able to sponsor their parents and grandparents to come to Canada.<\/p>\n The expression of interest period for the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) starts on October 13, and lasts 3 weeks until November 3.<\/p>\n Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) aims to complete 10,000 PGP applications for 2020.<\/p>\n Canada welcomed 11,000 immigrants in August 2020<\/p>\n Canada has welcomed 11,315 new permanent residents in August 2020. This was lower than the 13,645 immigrants that were welcomed in July 2020.<\/p>\n Canada\u2019s low immigration levels are due to the travel restrictions that were put in place to curve the spread of COVID-19. Despite this, Canada is committed to welcoming high levels of immigration, as levels are expected to rebound.<\/p>\n The first sign of Canada\u2019s commitment comes in the form of ongoing and regular Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws throughout the pandemic.<\/p>\n Manitoba\u2019s 100th PNP draw issues 191 invitations<\/p>\n The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited 191 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence.
