Following their last Express Entry draw (on March 1) for candidates who applied to a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held another draw today, the immigration department’s largest all-program\u00a0draw ever.\u00a0Today’s draw marks just the third all-program draw of 2023.<\/p>\n
Note: The previous record for all-program draws was 5,500 ITAs on January 18, 2023<\/p>\n
This latest Express Entry\u00a0draw saw IRCC issue 7,000 invitations to Express Entry\u00a0candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 490, which stays consistent with the exact CRS cut-off score from IRCC’s last all-program draw on\u00a0January 18, 2023 (minimum CRS score of 490). <\/p>\n
Express Entry candidates who remain a part of the pool can expect to see another draw occur in two weeks’ time.<\/p>\n
About Express Entry<\/p>\n
Express Entry is the name given to the system\u00a0used by\u00a0Canada’s federal government to manage immigration applications for three programs –\u00a0the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). Express Entry uses these programs to\u00a0bring foreign skilled workers into this country by offering\u00a0permanent residence (PR) to these candidates.<\/p>\n
The Express Entry process involves a draw-based selection system, which first requires\u00a0interested foreign skilled workers to self-verify their eligibility for one of the three Express Entry programs listed above. Once this step is complete, eligible\u00a0candidates will submit a profile through IRCC’s online portal and\u00a0review their CRS scores.\u00a0

Following the profile submission step in the Express Entry process,\u00a0candidates must wait for\u00a0IRCC to conduct their next Express Entry draw, which will invite a number of candidates to apply for PR in Canada.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Note:\u00a0To be selected in any given Express Entry draw, a candidate must\u00a0have a CRS score above the\u00a0cut-off score for that particular draw<\/p>\n
At this time, chosen candidates will be able to formally apply for Canadian PR, because this is when IRCC will issue them an\u00a0Invitation to Apply (ITA). ITAs are the “key” to PR in Canada because only upon receiving one can any foreign national apply for permanent resident status in this country via Express Entry.\u00a0<\/p>\n
ITA recipients are given 60 days from the day they receive their ITA\u00a0to complete\u00a0and submit their PR application to IRCC.<\/p>\n
