British Columbia has issued invitations to qualified Express Entry candidates, skilled workers and entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) sent out a grand total of 655 invitations on December 17\u2014 the largest amount in 2019.<\/p>\n

Of these, the BC PNP distributed 623 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence to Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration candidates.<\/p>\n

The Express Entry BC category is for candidates with a valid Express Entry profile in the federal pool of candidates. It is meant to streamline the immigration process for skilled workers that meet BC PNP criteria and who intend to settle in the province.<\/p>\n

The Skills Immigration category is for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in the province of British Columbia.<\/p>\n

Minimum score requirements ranged between 79 and 103 in both categories.<\/p>\n

The remaining invitations went to candidates in two Entrepreneur Immigration categories; 24 for the Base Category and eight for the Regional Pilot.<\/p>\n

Experienced entrepreneurs who want to establish a business in one of B.C.\u2019s regional communities or who can actively manage and invest in a B.C. business may be eligible for one of these categories.<\/p>\n

To qualify under Entrepreneur Immigration categories candidates must demonstrate business and management experience, have a net worth of at least $300,000 in the EI \u2014 Regional Pilot category and $600,000 in the EI \u2014 Base Category.<\/p>\n

The minimum score for the Entrepreneur Immigration Base Category was 118, while the Regional Pilot required 112.<\/p>\n

BC PNP categories are managed under B.C.\u2019s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).<\/p>\n

In order to apply through the SIRS, eligible candidates must first register an account, then they are assigned a score based on factors like education, work experience and language proficiency.<\/p>\n
