In today’s draw, IRCC issued 3,200 ITAs in a program-specific draw for eligible Canadian Experience Class\u00a0(CEC)\u00a0candidates with\u00a0a\u00a0minimum\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 509.<\/p>\n

Today’s draw follows a program-specific Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw yesterday (August 13, 2024)\u00a0that saw IRCC issue 763 ITAs to eligible candidates with a minimum CRS of 690.<\/p>\n

Express Entry<\/p>\n

IRCC uses a\u00a0system called Express Entry to\u00a0collectively manage economic immigration applications submitted to the following\u00a0three programs\u00a0<\/p>\n

Since June 2023, IRCC has used\u00a0three types of Express Entry\u00a0draws to welcome new foreign nationals to Canada. These\u00a0draw types are:<\/p>\n

The difference in these draw types will be detailed below.\u00a0<\/p>\n

General and Program-specific Express Entry Draws<\/p>\n

General and program-specific Express Entry draws\u00a0prioritize immigration candidates based primarily on their CRS scores.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Note:\u00a0CRS scores are numeric values assigned to\u00a0every eligible Express Entry candidate based on different human capital factors such as\u00a0age, work experience, and official language proficiency.<\/p>\n

For candidates who seek an ITA through either of these draw types, the following outlines the three steps that take place between deciding to pursue an Express Entry ITA and receiving one from IRCC.<\/p>\n

  1. Confirm your eligibility for\u00a0at least one Express Entry-managed program (FSWP, FSTP or CEC)<\/li>\n
  2. Create an IRCC profile online and receive your CRS\u00a0score<\/li>\n
  3. Wait until IRCC conducts its next Express Entry draw to see\u00a0whether you\u00a0will be given\u00a0an ITA\u00a0\n

    1. ITAs are only issued to candidates who have a CRS score above the department’s cut-off score for\u00a0a particular draw<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Note:\u00a0Receiving an ITA is\u00a0the only way that an\u00a0Express Entry candidate will be permitted to\u00a0submit an\u00a0electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) to IRCC.<\/p>\n

      Category-Based Express Entry Draws<\/p>\n

      Beginning in June last year, IRCC began conducting\u00a0category-based Express Entry\u00a0draws, specifically intending to attract\u00a0Canadian immigration candidates\u00a0with specific work experience and\u00a0proficiencies. Through category-based draws,\u00a0IRCC has focused on candidates who the department believes can best address\u00a0Canada’s most important\u00a0labour market gaps and national demographic needs. All immigration candidates who receive an ITA during a category-based draw\u00a0fit into one of the following six\u00a0target categories.<\/p>\n
