The Quebec Ministry of Immigration is extending the time allowed for completing and submitting an Expression of Interest through the Arrima portal to 90 days.<\/p>\n

Potential candidates previously had only 30 days to\u00a0create and submit an Expression of Interest through the\u00a0Arrima portal.\u00a0Prospective\u00a0candidates will now have 60 additional days to complete and submit their\u00a0Expressions of Interest profile to the Quebec Skilled Worker Program\u00a0bank of candidates.<\/p>\n

If\u00a0the\u00a0Expression of Interest is not completed and submitted within the 90 days, the Expression of Interest form will be deleted.\u00a0However, an Arrima account will remain active and the potential candidate will\u00a0be able to create a new Expression of Interest\u00a0under that same account.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Once an Expression of Interest is submitted, it will remain valid for one year.<\/p>\n

The new Expression of Interest system replaced what was previously a strictly “first-come, first-served” application process for the Quebec Skilled Worker Program, which only accepted a fixed number of applications from immigration candidates who did n ot meet one of the program’s cap exemptions. <\/p>\n

There is now no limit to the number of candidates who can submit a profile to the Expression of Interest bank.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The application process for\u00a0the Quebec Skilled Worker Program involves the following steps:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Completion of an Expression of Interest profile through the\u00a0Arrima<\/em>\u00a0portal\u00a0and entry into the QSWP’s Expression of Interest Bank.<\/li>\n
  2. Invitation to apply for a\u00a0Quebec Selection Certificate\u00a0(Certificat de s\u00e9lection du Qu\u00e9bec, or CSQ)<\/em>\u00a0to selected candidates\u00a0who meet criteria specified by the ministry. Having a job offer\u00a0approved by Quebec’s Immigration Ministry is one of the key factors taken into account.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  3. Application for a CSQ from\u00a0Quebec’s Immigration Ministry.<\/li>\n
  4. Issuing of a CSQ to\u00a0selected applicants.<\/li>\n
  5. Submission of a Canadian permanent residence application to\u00a0Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
