{"id":1757,"date":"2024-09-09T07:33:29","date_gmt":"2024-09-09T07:33:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/immigration-services.org\/?p=1757"},"modified":"2024-09-09T07:33:29","modified_gmt":"2024-09-09T07:33:29","slug":"ircc-adds-new-designated-language-test-option-for-proving-language-ability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/immigration-services.org\/?p=1757","title":{"rendered":"IRCC adds new designated language test option for proving language ability"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/images\/_1200x630_crop_center-center_82_none\/tcfcanadatest-canada-immigration.jpg?mtime=1656366344\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">  <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Tcfcanadatest canada immigration\" src=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/images\/_newsThumbnail\/tcfcanadatest-canada-immigration.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" \/> <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Tcfcanadatest canada immigration\" src=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/images\/_newsThumbnail\/tcfcanadatest-canada-immigration.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada is now accepting the <em>Test de <\/em>connaissance<em> du fran\u00e7ais pour le Canada<\/em> (TCF Canada) as proof of French language ability for Canadian immigration applications, including programs managed by the federal Express Entry system.<\/p>\n<p>The TCF Canada is\u00a0now be the second approved French language test that candidates can take\u00a0to prove language ability for immigration programs including the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).<\/p>\n<p>The other option remains the\u00a0<em>Test d\u2019\u00e9valuation de fran\u00e7ais (TEF Canada).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When applying for immigration to Canada through the popular FSW program, applicants must demonstrate language proficiency in English or French that is equivalent to a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or Niveaux de comp\u00e9tence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) level 7.<\/p>\n<p>The TCF Canada is administered by the Centre international d\u2019\u00e9tudes p\u00e9dagogiques (CIEP) and will be available to test takers at approved test centres\u00a0around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The tests options for proving\u00a0English language proficiency remain:<\/p>\n<p>The update was made as part of Canada\u2019s 2018 National Francophone Immigration Week, which\u00a0celebrates\u00a0the contributions of francophone immigrants to Canada, whose two official languages are English and French.<\/p>\n<p>About the TCF Canada Test<\/p>\n<p>The TCF Canada consists of four compulsory tests: Oral Comprehension (<em>Compr\u00e9hension orale<\/em>), Written\u00a0Comprehension (<em>Compr\u00e9hension \u00e9crite<\/em>), Oral Expression (<em>Expression orale<\/em>), and Written Expression (Expression \u00e9crite). The test lasts for approximately 2 hours and 47 minutes.
