The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program issued 35 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence through its Tech Pilot on October 24.<\/p>\n
All\u00a0candidates issued invitations in the October 24 draw\u00a0are required to have a\u00a0one-year full-time job offer\u00a0in one of the pilot’s\u00a029 in-demand occupations.<\/p>\n
The Tech Pilot was introduced in 2017 to help employers in B.C.’s tech sector fill labour shortages by facilitating access to foreign talent.<\/p>\n
Express Entry BC\u00a0candidates who successfully obtain a nomination from BC will be awarded an additional 600 points toward their overall Express Entry\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)\u00a0score. With the additional points, these candidates become among the highest-ranked and more likely to be issued an\u00a0Invitation To Apply (ITA)\u00a0for Canadian permanent residence in a future federal Express Entry draw.<\/p>\n
The remaining candidates\u00a0invited under the\u00a0Skills Immigration categories\u00a0have their\u00a0Canadian permanent residence applications processed directly\u00a0by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) once a provincial nomination is obtained from the BC PNP.<\/p>\n
Any individual interested in immigrating to British Columbia through the BC PNP categories must begin the process by creating an online BC PNP online profile. However, only applicants\u00a0under the Skilled Worker, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled, and International Graduate\u00a0categories are\u00a0required to register under the\u00a0BC PNP’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). Once registration is complete, a candidate\u00a0is assigned a SIRS score based on their credentials.<\/p>\n
