Twenty-seven invitations to apply for a provincial nomination were issued to skilled workers and international graduates in the latest British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) tech pilot draw, which took place on July 18.<\/p>\n
The invitations\u00a0were issued\u00a0to candidates who meet the BC PNP Tech Pilot eligibility requirements, which were updated recently with list of key technology sector occupations\u00a0and\u00a0job offer requirements for candidates in these occupations. For these candidates,\u00a0a full-time job offer of at least one year (365 days) is required among other criteria.<\/p>\n
The BC PNP says it launched its Tech Pilot as way to establish British Columbia “as a preferred\u00a0location\u00a0for new and emerging technologies, increasing the growth of domestic B.C. tech companies, and removing barriers to attracting skilled workers.”<\/p>\n
Candidates who obtain an invitation under BC’s Express Entry-aligned streams, such as the\u00a0EEBC – Skilled Worker\u00a0and\u00a0EEBC – International Graduate\u00a0streams, obtain 600 additional points under the\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)\u00a0if their\u00a0application for provincial nomination is approved.<\/p>\n
Skills Immigration candidates with a successful nomination from the province will have their\u00a0applications for permanent residence processed outside the Express Entry\u00a0system.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Individuals interested in immigrating to Canada through the BC PNP must first\u00a0submit an online profile with the BC PNP’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS)\u00a0and complete all components of the form. <\/p>\n
Once a profile is assessed, applicants receive a score based on education, work experience, and other factors.<\/p>\n
