The Government of British Columbia issued 26 new invitations to apply for a provincial nomination under its tech-focused pilot program in a draw that took place on June 6.<\/p>\n
The new invitations\u00a0were issued\u00a0to eligible British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)\u00a0candidates\u00a0who have a\u00a0full-time indeterminate\u00a0valid job offer in one of the\u00a0Tech Pilot’s\u00a032 prioritized technology sector fields.<\/p>\n
The BC PNP Tech Pilot was introduced in 2017 as a way to attract and retain foreign tech workers and international\u00a0students\u00a0who have completed their education in BC, or elsewhere in Canada, and have the necessary skills for the province’s technology sector.<\/p>\n
Candidates invited under BC’s Express Entry-aligned streams, such as the\u00a0 EEBC – Skilled Worker\u00a0and\u00a0EEBC – International Graduate\u00a0streams,\u00a0receive 600 additional points under the\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)\u00a0if their\u00a0application for provincial nomination is approved.<\/p>\n
Candidates selected under the Skills Immigration categories\u00a0will have their\u00a0applications for permanent residence processed outside the Express Entry\u00a0system after they receive a successful nomination from the province.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Individuals interested in immigrating to Canada through the BC PNP must first\u00a0submit an online profile with the BC PNP and complete all sections of the registration form. <\/p>\n
Once a profile is assessed, applicants receive a score based on civil status, education, work experience, and other factors. They are then entered into BC PNP Skills Immigration selection pool.<\/p>\n
