The province also reduced the list of opportunity occupations from 16 to 11.<\/p>\n<p>Category B\u00a0is set to reopen on April 28\u00a0at 9 a.m. Atlantic Daylight Time (ADT).<\/p>\n<p>In order to apply through\u00a0Category B of the\u00a0of the\u00a0Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry\u00a0stream, candidates\u00a0must have at least one year of work experience in one of the 11 occupations. A job offer is not required for this category and there is no mandatory minimum CRS score.<\/p>\n<p>Category B functions on a\u00a0first-come, first-served basis and applicants\u00a0nominated by Nova Scotia are awarded\u00a0an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)\u00a0points, leaving them well-positioned for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in a later federal Express Entry draw.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Category A of this stream, which remains open, requires candidates to have an arranged job offer supported by a positive\u00a0Labour Market Impact Assessment\u00a0from a Nova Scotia employer.<\/p>\n<p>Express Entry candidates who wish to apply to Category B of the Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Stream must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have at least one year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) skilled work experience in the last six years in one of the 11 \u2018opportunity\u2019 occupations;<\/li>\n<li>Have their foreign education credentials assessed, authenticated, and given an equivalent value in Canada by one of the four designated credential assessment agencies;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate, by way of a standardized language test acceptable to the governments of Canada and Nova Scotia, at least an adequate intermediate language proficiency in English or French (Canadian Language Benchmark: 7); and<\/li>\n<li>Obtain at least 67 points on the Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry points grid. Points are awarded based on language proficiency, age, work experience, education, and adaptability; and<\/li>\n<li>Have a profile registered in Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada\u2019s Express Entry\u00a0system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Opportunity Occupations<\/h2>\n<p>The list of opportunity occupations represents professions where there may be employment opportunities in the province of Nova Scotia. The occupations are classified in accordance with the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
