Canada has issued 2000 invitations to apply (ITA) for permanent residency in the latest Express Entry draw held on August 3.<\/p>\n
The all-program draw was for candidates in the Federal Skilled Worker Program and Canadian Experience Class. The minimum comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score was533. This is lower than the cut off score of\u00a0542 in the last draw.<\/p>\n
All-program draws resumed July 6 this year after being on hold for over 18 months. In this type of draw, any candidate in the Express Entry pool may be invited regardless of their program, provided they meet the minimum CRS scores.<\/p>\n
This is the 228th draw since the 2015 launch of Express Entry and brings the total number of ITAs issued this year to 16,039<\/p>\n
Today’s minimum score of 533 is higher than the previous round of invitations for all programs, held in 2020, where scores were around 470.<\/p>\n
The tiebreaker timestamp used by IRCC in this draw was January 06, 2022 at 14:29:50 UTC. A tiebreaker is used when multiple candidates have the minimum CRS score. Candidates who entered the Express Entry pool after the time stamp date and time miss the cut off and will not receive an ITA this round.<\/p>\n
About Express Entry<\/p>\n
The Express Entry system is Canada\u2019s most prominent source of skilled immigrants. There are three programs that use Express Entry: The Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.<\/p>\n
Obtaining permanent residency through Express Entry is a two-step process. First a candidate must self-evaluate if they are eligible for a program. Then they need to create a profile on the IRCC website that demonstrates language ability, work experience, education, and other human capital factors such as age.<\/p>\n
Eligible candidates will then receive a score on the Comprehensive Ranking System. Candidates with the highest scores are the most likely to receive an invitation to apply (ITA). Express Entry draws are typically held every two weeks.<\/p>\n
If a candidate gets an ITA, they have 60 days to submit their completed application to IRCC.<\/p>\n
