This highly popular Canadian immigration option allows skilled workers with experience in one of 21 in-demand occupations to make an application for a provincial nomination certificate, which may then be followed by an application for Canadian permanent residence. Applicants do not require a job offer in order to make an application.<\/p>\n<p>At 1,200 new applications, the intake cap for this application cycle of the SINP\u00a0International Skilled Worker &#8211; Occupations In-Demand\u00a0sub-category is significantly larger than previous application cycles that have taken place earlier this year. As such, more individuals may be accepted as newcomers to the province, which has a high standard of living and plentiful employment opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>However, this SINP sub-category has reopened on a number of occasions in 2016, most recently on October 24, when the application intake cap was filled quickly. Consequently, potential applicants are advised to submit an application as soon as possible. If it is not possible to submit an application within the current intake period, potential applicants may prepare for a subsequent intake period that may take place at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>Among other eligibility requirements, applicants must be highly-skilled in an\u00a0in-demand occupation in the province. The current list contains 21 occupations across a range of industries, notably in engineering, trades, agriculture, health care, and IT. A full list of in-demand occupations may be found below.<\/p>\n<p>The International Skilled Worker &#8211; Occupations In-Demand\u00a0sub-category is a \u2018base\u2019 sub-category, meaning that it is not aligned with the federal Express Entry\u00a0immigration selection system. It is possible\u00a0that individuals who are not eligible for Express Entry (for example, because of language ability) \u2014 as well as individuals who are eligible for Express Entry but who have so far not received an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence \u2014 may be eligible for this SINP sub-category.<\/p>\n<h3>Minimum Eligibility Requirements for SINP International Skilled Worker &#8211; Occupations In-Demand<\/h3>\n<p>In order to be eligible under the Occupations In-Demand sub-category, applicants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have proof of legal status, if currently residing in Canada;<\/li>\n<li>Have a minimum language score of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4;<\/li>\n<li>Have completed at least\u00a0one year of post-secondary education or training comparable to the Canadian education system;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The program of study must have resulted in a degree, diploma, certificate, or a certificate equivalent to a trade certificate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Have at least one-year of paid work experience in the past ten years related to their\u00a0field of education or training, in a highly-skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, or B) that is considered to be in-demand in Saskatchewan (See\u00a0in-demand occupations list, below);<\/li>\n<li>Obtain proof of eligibility for Saskatchewan licensure if their\u00a0profession\u00a0is regulated in Saskatchewan and requires mandatory (compulsory) certification or licensing;<\/li>\n<li>Have proof of settlement funds and a settlement plan;
