Ontario issued 471 invitations to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residence on March 24.<\/p>\n
The invitations were issued\u00a0under an\u00a0Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)\u00a0stream called the Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Notifications of Interests (NOIs) were issued to candidates who had\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores between\u00a0350 and\u00a0600 and who\u00a0had submitted their profiles between March 24, 2021, and March 24, 2022.<\/p>\n
To be eligible under this stream, candidates must live in Ontario and hold a valid work permit. They must also have a minimum of one year full-time work experience in the last two years prior to their Notification of Interest in National Occupation Classification 633, or major groups 72, 73 or 82. They also need to have\u00a0have a profile in Canada’s\u00a0Express Entry pool.<\/p>\n
Those who received an invitation have 45 calendar days from the day of they receive their NOI\u00a0to apply for the provincial nomination.<\/p>\n
Express Entry candidates who then receive a nomination from Ontario will get 600 CRS points added to their CRS score. They will also be eligible to receive an Invitations to Apply (ITA) from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-specific Express Entry draw.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Express Entry system is Canada’s main pathway for economic immigration. The system is\u00a0used\u00a0to manage permanent residence applications through three main economic-class immigration programs:<\/p>\n
If you are eligible for one or more of these programs, you can then create an Express Entry profile. Once you upload all your documents, you will get a score based on your work experience, education, age, and language ability in English or French, among other criteria.<\/p>\n
The highest scoring candidates are issued ITAs, which allow them to submit a complete application for permanent residence.<\/p>\n
