Jason Kenney, the new Minister of Citizenship, Immigration, and Multiculturalism delivered an address today on the future of Canadian immigration. Hestated that the Government of Canada remains committed to a dynamic immigration program and to the successful integration of newcomers.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust as immigration has played a strong role in our past, it will continue to be important to our future,\u201d said Minister Kenney. \u201cCanada is respectedaround the world for the way we\u2019ve managed to bring in people from all over the globe. We have done this with a spirit of openness and tolerance, embracingdiversity and becoming stronger for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to the privilege of serving as Canada\u2019s Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism as we continue our commitment toreuniting families, to maintaining our humanitarian obligations to refugees, and to supporting Canada\u2019s economy,\u201d the Minister added.<\/p>\n
