Here are some of the highlights.<\/p>\n
On November 18, one of\u00a0Canada’s prairie provinces,\u00a0Saskatchewan, held its largest draw of the year, inviting 633 Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand\u00a0candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.<\/p>\n
Under its\u00a0Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), the province sent out invitations to candidates from 14 eligible occupations under each of the two categories.\u00a0Both groups of candidates also needed Educational Credential Assessments to demonstrate their foreign education was comparable to the Canadian standard.<\/p>\n
Also on November 18, Manitoba\u00a0invited\u00a0428 immigration candidates under its\u00a0Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).\u00a0Among the invited were\u00a068 candidates with profiles in the Express Entry system.<\/p>\n
On the same day, November 18, Prince Edward Island also held a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw.\u00a0The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) invited 188 immigration candidates, under its\u00a0Express Entry,\u00a0Labour Impact, and\u00a0Business Impact\u00a0streams.<\/p>\n
Then last week,\u00a0more specifically on November 23,\u00a0British Columbia invited 357 immigration candidates through its British Columbia\u00a0Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).\u00a0The province held two draws and invited candidates from the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams.<\/p>\n
A day later, on November 24, Alberta released information about its latest round of invitations.\u00a0The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) invited candidates who had scores of at least 343 in the Express Entry system on November 9.\u00a0<\/p>\n
That same day, the federal department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held an\u00a0Express Entry\u00a0draw, inviting 613 PNP candidates<\/p>\n
This recent surge in provincial government invitations comes as the year 2021 draws to a close. Each province with a PNP receives an annual quota from the federal government for the number of immigration candidates it can nominate, and provinces are looking to fill them before the end of the year. Canada’s goal is to welcome more than 400,000 new immigrants per year starting this year to support its post-COVID economic recovery.<\/p>\n
