Last week, the Canadian government made two important announcements regarding travel and vaccinations and several Provincial Nominee Program draws were held.<\/p>\n
First, Canada’s federal government announced the introduction of a standardized Canada-wide proof of vaccination that will eventually be used as a document for international travel.<\/p>\n
Rather than creating a federal database for health information, the government will leave this task to the provinces and issue a standardized digital document with a watermark containing a maple leaf in the upper right corner.\u00a0Ottawa says will be a guarantee of reliability internationally.<\/p>\n
The government also confirmed on October 21 that flights between Morocco and Canada will resume by the end of the month. Flights from that country will be able to land on Canadian soil again starting October 29, given that the COVID-19 situation has improved there, according to statements published by Transport Canada. Flights from Morocco have\u00a0been suspended since August 29.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Three\u00a0of Canada’s provinces held Provincial Nominee Program draws last week. <\/p>\n
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited a total of 546 candidates whose profiles were in the Expression of Interest (EOI) pool under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker, Master’s Graduate, and PhD Graduate streams.<\/p>\n
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) invited 204 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.<\/p>\n
Most of the invitations, 195, went to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates. The remaining nine invitations went to Business Impact candidates who had at least 72 points in the province\u2019s immigration system.<\/p>\n
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited a total of 459 immigration candidates under three PNP streams. More specifically, invitations were distributed as follows:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Among these invitations, 94 went to candidates in the Express Entry system.<\/p>\n
