After a long wait, the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) will open its doors to applicants this Sunday, May 4. Excited applicants from around the world are already preparing their applications in advance of Saturday\u2019s opening.<\/p>\n

The FSWP is the most popular immigration program in Canada. Immigration Minister Jason Kenney has announced that moving forward, applicants to the program will benefit from faster processing times, receiving their visas within 12 months of application. To help ensure fast processing times, a cap of 5,000 has been placed on application intake.<\/p>\n

In order to target individuals with the skills Canada needs most, applications will only be received from individuals with experience in one of 24 eligible occupations. Each occupation will accept a maximum of 300 applications.<\/p>\n
