On June 9, Canada invited a total of 940\u00a0Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to apply for permanent residence. These\u00a0candidates must have had a\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)\u00a0of at least\u00a0711 to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).\u00a0<\/p>\n
Candidates who get a provincial nomination\u00a0receive an extra\u00a0600 CRS points. This means that candidates needed only 111 core points to receive an ITA.<\/p>\n
One day later, on June 10, Canada invited\u00a0Canadian Experience Class (CEC)\u00a0candidates to apply for permanent residence. In this draw, invited candidates\u00a0needed a CRS score of 368.<\/p>\n
This is the second lowest CRS requirement this year. The lowest was when\u00a0Canada invited a whopping 27,332 candidates in a\u00a0historic Express Entry draw. The CRS score in that draw was just 75.<\/p>\n
Since Canada introduced travel restrictions in March 2020,\u00a0Canada held many program-specific draws like the ones held today.<\/p>\n

Express Entry is the system that the Immigration,\u00a0Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC)\u00a0uses to manage permanent residence\u00a0applications for one of\u00a0Canada\u2019s three main economic-class programs:<\/p>\n
Many\u00a0provinces and territories have immigration programs that are aligned with the federal Express Entry system.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Candidates with an\u00a0Express Entry profile are given a CRS score. This score is based on their age, work experience, education, and their proficiency in French or English.\u00a0<\/p>\n
CRS points can be given to one individual or to a couple. Candidates with the highest CRS scores\u00a0in the Express Entry pool are invited to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draws.<\/p>\n
A candidate would then submit their application to IRCC, who will then make a final decision.\u00a0Canada aims to process most of the applications within six months. If a candidate is successful, they will receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and a visa on their passport if they need one to enter Canada. The final step would be to move to Canada and receive their Permanent Residence (PR) card.<\/p>\n
These draws bring the total number of invitations issued so far in 2021\u00a0to 81,713.<\/p>\n
Canada aims to invite many more people this year to apply for permanent residence. This shows Canada’s commitment to meet its targets as per the Immigration Levels Plan.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Canada is looking to welcome over 400,000 immigrants every year between 2021 and 2023. For 2021, Canada aims to welcome 108,500 immigrants under Express Entry.\u00a0Canada is aiming to welcome 110,500 immigrants in 2022 and 113,750 in 2023.<\/p>\n
Candidates who want to immigrate to Canada\u00a0can still\u00a0create an Express Entry profile. IRCC still continues to accept admissions to the Express Entry system, despite travel restrictions currently in place.<\/p>\n
