Over 21,600 jobs were created in Alberta this past January; the highest employment gain in the province since 2006. The RBC report is predicting more than 50,000 new jobs will be created in 2011. Alberta\u2019s unemployment rate is expected to fall from 6.5% in 2010 to 5.8% this year.<\/p>\n

An increased demand for Alberta\u2019s oil will result in the need for more workers in the sector. \u00a0A study from the Petroleum Human Resources Council of Canada predicts occupations in the oil sector will continue to be in high demand in Canada and especially in\u00a0Alberta. Some examples of occupations that may experience more job growth are engineers, geologists, plant operators, maintenance trades, production accountants, rig crews, environmental specialists, software developers, environmental management technicians.<\/p>\n

The report from RBC Economics also predicts Alberta\u2019s economy will continue to grow in 2012 by 3.8%.<\/p>\n
