Invited candidates must have had a\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)\u00a0of at least\u00a0720 to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).\u00a0<\/p>\n
Those who receive a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 CRS points. This may explain why the minimum CRS requirement is high.<\/p>\n
However, the CRS requirement is 21 points lower than in the last PNP-specific Express Entry draw.<\/p>\n
Canada held many program-specific draws after Canada introduced temporary measures in March 2020, to curb the spread of COVID-19, such as closing the border.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Express Entry is the system that the Immigration,\u00a0Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)\u00a0uses to manage permanent residence\u00a0applications for one of\u00a0Canada\u2019s three main economic-class programs<\/p>\n
Many\u00a0provinces have provincial immigration programs that are aligned with the federal Express Entry system.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Candidates that are admitted into the Express Entry system are given a CRS score. This score is based on multiple factors that they submit,\u00a0such as their age, work experience, education and proficiency in French or English.\u00a0<\/p>\n
CRS points can be given to one individual or to a couple. The highest-scoring candidates in the Express Entry pool are invited to apply for permanent residence in regular Express Entry draws.<\/p>\n
Once a candidate submits their application, IRCC make a final decision. Canada aims to process most of the applications they receive within six months. If a candidate is successful, they will receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence and a visa on their passport if they require one. The final step would be to move to Canada and receive their Permanent Residence (PR) card.<\/p>\n
This is the fifth draw of the year.\u00a0This draw\u00a0brings the total number of invitations issued so far in 2021\u00a0to 10,654.<\/p>\n
Canada aims to invite many more people throughout the year to apply for permanent residence. The country’s Immigration Levels Plan suggests that Canada is looking to welcome over 400,000 immigrants every year between 2021 and 2023. For 2021, Canada aims to welcome 108,500 immigrants under Express Entry.\u00a0Canada is aiming to welcome 110,500 immigrants in 2022 and 113,750 in 2023.<\/p>\n
Despite the COVID-related travel restrictions in place, candidates who wish to submit their Express Entry profile may still do so. IRCC continues to accept submissions to the Express Entry system.<\/p>\n
